Young Jack Russell Terrier Seeks Home

  • December 18, 2012

Please help me find a great home for this little lady.

Ladybug is an adorable, fun, playful and sweet, three-year-old, ten-pound, female Jack Russell Terrier looking for a loving guardian.

Ladybug gives kisses and rolls over for belly rubs. She’s wonderful with people and good with select other dogs. She’s not too good in a home with cats; she likes to chase and bark at them. She was found as a stray in Schaumburg, Illinois, and never claimed at the local shelter.

She’s so small and loving, that she’s easy to pick up and carry around and cuddle with. She loves attention and will nudge your arm for petting and playtime. She loves to play fetch, and will dance on her hind legs for treats!
Ladybug might get along with a submissive dog, but would prefer to be the only pooch around the home.

To meet and possibly adopt her, please contact Melia at melia88@comcast.net or 708-224-1900. Her adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued dogs of Lucky Dog Rescue. She is staying in the south Chicago suburbs.

I left a comment, but it wasn't accepted. I'm very annoyed.

Sorry to hear. Glad to see it started working again.

OK, let's try this again... I'd love to take her, but I already have two terriers and you intimated she was a bit of a drama queen and wanted to have a house to herself. Where did she come from? I've always loved Jack Russels...

My other two (a male Westie and a female Cairn) are rather rambunctious and might be a little much for her, but I'd like to know more... They're turning 9 now and I'm very much in the market for another dog to join them.

They both, however, are decidedly spunky and full of life. From the description, that might be a little much for her.

Sophie, in particular, can be a bit of a hellion...

Simon and Sophie have always been extremely friendly with other dogs. Maybe you could bring her over just to check it out, and at least have some fun with each other. I live near Walt's in Homewood and have a fenced-in back yard. Even if it doesn't work out, they'd undoubtedly have a good time!

Chris: She comes from South Suburban Humane Society. The staff there can give you more information, such as if she was an owner surrender, if the owner gave a reason, such as "moving to an apartment that doesn't allow dogs," etc. The shelter is open until 7 tonight. Hurry over to meet her. Bring your dogs, but leave them in the car until a staff member assists you with the meet and greet. Rescuing a shelter dog is so rewarding! I hope you will give this a chance!

I would take her in a heart beat, but I already have one jack Russell terrorist who has to be the star of the show.
