New Sports Bar Opens in Chicago Heights
Just in time to celebrate the New Year, D'Las Sports Blue Restaurant & Bar opened on Dixie Highway.
D'Las Sports Blue Restauarant and Bar opened its doors Saturday, just in time to celebrate the new year.
Owner LaTonya Stanford waited just six months for her plans to come to pass. "I finally have my dream-come-true," said Stanford. "Chicago Heights residents can come out enjoy good food be entertained and just relax."
Key Heights residents were on hand to help cut the ribbon on Saturday afternoon, including Mayor David Gonzalez. Corporation Counsel Thomas "TJ" Somer and Ecomonic Development Director Joe Kudra. Bloom Township committeeman Terry Matthews welcomed the business as well.
Asked what she is proud of on the menu, Stanford said the beef. "We're known for real steakburgers," she said. "We have a house special, a turkey burger named after me, 'Tony's Blue Turkey Burger,' which is served on a pretzel roll. Then we have rip tips, chicken, vegetarian chili, catfish and more."
Stanford is proud to open her new sports bar on the corner of Vollmer and Dixie, joining other popular eateries such as the Egg & I, Classic Cobbler and Bergstein's Deli.
"I love it here," Stanford said. "The people are awesome in Chicago Heights, they have made me feel so welcome. I couldn't see being anywhere else."
