Two years in, I'm still learning my way around this town. Thanks for all your support, Chicago Heights.

Fernando Desiderio replaced Ald. Sonia Perez as the second ward park district commissioner. He ruffled some feathers when he pushed to have Guy Petrarca Park turned into a dog park.
Former Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. was a major topic in 2012 as he resigned from office under a cloud suspicion.
Former Chicago Heights mayor Angelo "Sam" Ciambrone was a Patch Remarkable Resident as we looked back on his time as mayor.

Today officially marks two years of existence for Chicago Heights Patch. I'm truly thankful for all the support we've gotten since we launched here.

Instead of writing a long-winded post about how great it's been, I thought it might be better to look at some big moments from the past two years, captured in photos.

So, without further ado, we give you a photo retrospective from Chicago Heights Patch.

Congratulations to you, Chris, and to Patch's many reporters and contributors. Sometimes the news is good and often it is sad, but I think that it is important that there is a venue by which it is shared. I've especially enjoyed "Remarkable Residents" becuase it has highlighted the good in our in our City.

We surely could use a Country Club Hills Patch and I looked into it a while back. It is certainly beyond my capabilities I wonder whether there are any CCH readers who would be inclined to start one. I'd help !
