Handgun, Car, Chrome Wheels Go Missing: Blotter

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 14
A black 1999 Dodge Durango was reported stolen from a behind a home in the 1200 block of Park Avenue, according to a report. The victim said she only had one set of keys for the Dodge. A check of the area failed to turn up the vehicle.
TUESDAY, MARCH 13
Bright Lights and DUI
Jonathan Rowton, 44, of the 4100 block of the Lindenwood Drive in Matteson, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol level greater than 0.08 and failing to dim headlights, according to a report. Rowton was stopped at about 3:44 a.m. near 16th Street and Portland Avenue after an officer saw him driving with his high beams on. Police could smell an odor of alcohol on his breath. Rowton was arrested after taking field sobriety tests. While in custody, he took a breath test with a result of 0.115. He is due in Markham court on April 24.
MONDAY, MARCH 12
Fancy Wheels Go Missing
Two sets of chrome tire wheels and CD players were reported missing from a storage unit, according to a report. The victim told police he had stored the equipment on March 7 and was called days later informing him of a problem with the lock. He returned on March 12 and found the items were gone. The two sets of chrome are valued at $3,100 combined.
A 9mm handgun with a stainless steel slide and a black handle was reported stolen from a house, according to a report. Someone burglarized the victim's home during the day in the 1100 block of Grant Avenue. The gun was in the person's bedroom. The victim said the gun was broken down and had a lock.
