Congressmen Davis and Rush Endorse Robin Kelly: 2nd District Race
The announcement came at a Feb. 10 press conference at the Little Black Pearl Art Center in Chicago.
At least one 2nd District candidate had a good Sunday afternoon, as two congressmen announced their support from Robin Kelly at a press conference in Chicago.
Congressmen Bobby Rush and Danny Davis added their names to a growing list of elected officials supporting Kelly.
“Robin Kelly has the kind of pragmatism that you need to get results in Washington, while never compromising her beliefs like many do," Davis said. "If we are going to stop the NRA in their tracks, and make our communities safe again, Robin Kelly is the right woman for the job.”
Rush and Davis echoed each other, both expressing confidence that she would support President Barack Obama in fighting gun violence.
“I am honored to have the endorsement of Congressmen Rush and Davis, and look forward to working with them and our President to rid our streets of dangerous weapons, and make the second Congressional district a place where people are proud to live, work and raise their families,” said Kelly.
Ald. Anthony Beale, who is also a candidate in the race, has cited Rush and Davis as examples of former Chicago aldermen who are now strong congressmen.

I must let the reading public know what transpired at the forum last night at St. John. A gentleman was troubled over an incident with his child.
In his question he noted that he was having a problem etc. Anthony W. Williams offered to help him stating he didn't have to wait until being elected. No one else stood up to offer this man assistance until AFTER Anthony W. Williams, a true public servant, volunteered. On February 11th, 2013, CHARLES RAYBURN got my early vote. He is now the front runner.
Robin Kelly was late for the Governors State Candidate Forum and gave a "Note From Her Mommy" to organizers stating that she was in the wrong part of the university and that's why she was late. Ofcourse they broke their own rule that stated," No one would be allowed to participate that arrived after 5:45pm," and let her as a privileged candidate in.
At the NAACP Rainbow Beach Forum Robin Kelly made an "Early Date" appearence and left without answering a single question. This told me that she is a fair weather candidate that will leave me hanging on issues of concern to me.
Danny and Bobby better give Robin Kelly some mitten clamps and more "Mommy I'm Late Notes" to give Nancy P., Harry R., John B., etc., or she won't get to vote in congress because she stopped for a "Happy Meal."

City News Rescinds Endorsement of Senator Toi Hutchinson
For the first time in forty-two years of publication and making political endorsements The Kankakee City News is forced to rescind it’s endorsement of Illinois State Senator Toi Hutchinson for U.S. Congress Illinois 2nd District.
Learning of the unethical, if not illegal, spending of campaign funds by Senator Hutchinson to her mother for as, “events scheduling”, the editorial board of the Kankakee City News has no alternative but to rescind it’s previous endorsement of Hutchinson.
“We believe that a public servant should exercise honesty and sincerity in the performing of all duties related to the office for which they have been elected and we believe that the secret practice of Senator Hutchinson in the paying of funds to her mother as her official scheduler violates the public trust. We see no practical difference between the actions of Senator Hutchinson in this practice than we do in that of former U.S. Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. and his wife, former Chicago 7th Ward Alderwoman Sandy Jackson as both acts are in our collective opinions a violation of the public trust.”
It is for that reason that the editorial board of the Kankakee City News announces the formal endorsement of candidate for U.S. Congress Illinois 2nd District Robin Kelly.
