Gas Station Murder Arraignment Nears: Court Watch

Tinley Outriggers manager smacked by customer known for confronting diners, lawyer says • Accused Bremen High fondler back in court next month • Accused Orland carjacker out on bail.

 

A Park Forest man accused in the shooting death of a Chicago Heights man at a gas station over a rental dispute will face arraignment in a Cook County courtroom on Tuesday. Dennis Joyner is charged with two felony counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and eight felony counts of murder in the shooting death of 40-year-old Robert Fortson.

Joyner, 60, was recently moved to the Cook County Jail's medical ward due to his health complications.

ORLAND PARK - Accused Carjacking Accomplice Appears in Court

April Schmidt, 23, facing charges connected to an Orland Park carjacking is out on bail. Schmidt pleaded not guilty on Aug. 2, along with alleged accomplice Jonathan Sarolas, 24, who remains in custody on $700,000 bail.

TINLEY PARK - Defense: Victim in Outriggers Assault Case Was the Aggressor 

The defense attorney for a Mokena man accused of assaulting a Tinley Park restaurant manager argued that a woman who had a previous run-in with the alleged victim should be allowed to testify at a trial. Donovan Campbell, 42, is claiming self-defensefor his role in the March 18, 2011, incident. Authorities say the altercation began when Campbell became upset over his bill at Outriggers

NEW LENOX — Substitute Teacher Accused of Fondling Students at Bremen High Returns to Court in November

New Lenox resident and high school teacher Ross Larson, who is accused of students at New Bremen High School, will be back in a Markham courtroom on Nov. 7.

I love how in the original story for the Orland Park carjacking, the guy asked 'is this a parole violation?'. Yes, it is. Committing a crime while on parole is a violation.

I remember the Tinley Park one when it first happened. The doofus and his wife ordered dinners that were market price. A good general rule: if it says "market price" on the menu, don't order it.

Regardless of how high his bill is - he can not put his hands on another person. It also said his wife and 8 year old child were taken to the police station to wait for a ride home since she was too drunk to drive. Sounds like a lovely couple.
