Halvorson, Supporters Rally for Early Voting
Second Congressional District Primary challenger Debbie Halvorson and volunteers rallied Sunday, where she spoke on several claims by U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.
Just as early voting starts, 2nd Congressional District Primary challenger Debbie Halvorson and her volunteers rallied Sunday at her Homewood office to get out the vote and drum up more support for her campaign.
Halvorson is vying for U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr.’s seat and insists that while planning for his Peotone airport project, Jackson didn’t consider the opinion of all Southland mayors. She questioned Jackson's ability to get things done, after he touted his efforts at an open forum hosted by Team HOPE and the Democratic Women of the South Suburbs in Hazel Crest.
According to Halvorson, claims that she voted against President Barack Obama 88 times are untrue. She reinforced her support for the president.
