Pregnant Woman Choked and Beaten After Delivering News, Police Say

She woke up with his hands around her throat, according to the report.

A Sauk Village woman did not get the desired reaction when she told her Chicago Heights boyfriend she was pregnant with child, according to the police report.

The 18-year-old woman told police she was at her boyfriend’s Hickory Street home when he showed up at 3:30 a.m. on Feb. 1 and began choking her while she was asleep.

After the woman broke free, the angry boyfriend slapped her in the face, kicked her in the stomach, hit her on the back with a boot and broke her cell phone, according to the report.

“Get your stuff and get out,” he said, before throwing all of the woman’s belongings outside. But as the woman was gathering her property, the boyfriend began to pull her hair out, according to the report.

The woman was finally picked up by her aunt and taken to the Chicago Heights Police Department. She refused medical treatment despite complaining of pain in her face, back and stomach, police said.

Police searched the boyfriend’s home but did not find him, according to the report.
