Fish Fry Favorites: A Patchy Guide and Map

Looking for a good fish fry in your area? Patch went fishing for you. And you can help us build our list of best fish fry spots in the Southland.

It's that time of year again. Want to know where you can find delicious fried fish? By reader suggestion, we've pin-pointed the area's finest Lenten fish frys.

Check the map for weekly and one-time meal deals at area churches and VFW halls. Click on each pinpoint on the map for details on that location's offerings, including price and menu items.

Which is your favorite fish fry in the area, and why? Did we leave one off the list? Let's fix that. Email Oak Forest Patch editor Lauren Traut at lauren.traut@patch.com, and we will add them to our map. Or leave a comment on this article.

We'll update the map every week.

Folks, the fish at Danny's is no joke. Take advantage of that while you can.

Check out the fry at St.Joseph Church in Homewood. All monies raised support the Athlectic Association for parish kids. All you can eat fish, spaghetti, or Mac N Cheese. Also offers shrimp and catfish dinners. Hours are from 4:30 - 8:00pm the first six Fridays during Lent. Great deal and an enjoyable family atmosphere

Cuzin's on Oak Park Avenue. All you can eat every Friday, best fish in Tinley. I believe it's $7 until 4pm and then $8 after 4pm. Go early because they get very busy, very fast.

I've asked around too and haven't heard anything substantive. Though from what I heard, things should be pretty similar when they reopen.

Danny’s Corner Evicted
Cook County Sheriff’s Police on Wednesday placed an eviction notice on Danny’s Corner, 9400 W. 143rd St. in Orland Park.

Next plans are still being finalized, though apparently a new owner plans to reopen – possibly as soon as this week – with the same hours, staff and menu.
