The national used car sales and finance chain CarHop sold its first vehicle in Chicago Heights Jan. 9 at the newly opened Halsted Street location, which used to be a Popeye's Chicken restaurant. If you travel on Lincoln Highway through the Heights regularly, you may have notived the big "store closing" signs outside Payless Shoe Source, at 321 W. Lincoln Highway Street. Payless will be closing either at the end of January or when they run out of shoes. With prices dropping 50 to 70 percent, the latter may come first. For Heights Payless shoppers the nearest shoe source will be the 154 Town Center Road location in Matteson. The Heights Payless is currently giving out 40 percent off receipts to customers willing to shop the Matteson store.
