"A Night at the Operetta" is presented by Chicago Folks Operetta and GSU Center for Performing Arts as part of our "Opera Up Close" Series.

Chicago Folks Operetta, a theatre company devoted to "the nurturing of live operetta through articulate and dynamic productions", brings their wealth of talent and artistry to the "Opera Up Close" stage for an afternoon of beautiful music.

In particular, the CFO concentrates on producing both Viennese and American operettas from the early 20th century.

Host and performer Gerald Frantzen, along with an ensemble of great singers, will lead the audience through a tour of the most beloved (and some lesser known) operettas in the repertoire.

Clever, poignant, melodious, elegant and fun; come experience everything that great operetta can be! 

The "Opera Up Close" Series offers exceptional talent in an intimate cafe-like setting.

You are seated on stage with the singers for a full experience like no other.
