The Village of Park Forest will hold the eighth annual Veterans Day Program on Friday, November 9.
This year, the program which recognizes those who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces will also feature the unveiling of the latest Park Forest mural.
Local artist Glenn Davies will introduce his painting -- erected on an interior wall of Freedom Hall -- honoring the service of two veterans and current residents, Ed Fizer and John Ryan, as well as the history of Park Forest.
The evening will also feature the music of Nancy Hays, who has performed for the likes of President Barack Obama, Senator John Kerry and Colin Powell, as she performs her “I love America” program. Additionally, military vehicles are set to be on display in the parking lot of Freedom Hall.
The event begins at 7 p.m. and is free to attend.
Freedom Hall is located at 410 Lakewood Blvd. in Park Forest.
