Marian Grads Participate in Golf Fundraiser

Fore the Kids, an annual golf event supporting the Archdiocese of Chicago's Catholic schools, welcomed a special guest, Ozzie Guillen, on June 23rd.  Guillen helped raise over $120,000 that will be used to provide emergency tuition assistance for families with hardship who wish to keep their children in the Catholic Schools in Lake and Cook Counties.   The event was held at the Chicago Highlands Golf Club in Westchester.   Francis Cardinal George, Archbishop of Chicago, O.M.I, and Sr. Mary Paul McCaughey O.P., Superintendent of Catholic Schools, were also on hand to thank the many businesses and friends of the Archdiocese that contributed to the event.  In thanking the guests, Cardinal George spoke of the need to sustain our schools that offer an excellent education for our youth and contribute to a more civil society.  Sr. M. Paul shared a progress report on the resurgence of enrollment in the schools as a major step in building a strong financial future.
