Northwestern College Hosted a Spring Blood Drive in Bridgeview

[Bridgeview, IL]  On Monday, May 5, Northwestern College hosted a spring blood drive at its Bridgeview Campus located at 7725 S. Harlem Avenue. It was sponsored by the College’s Medical Assisting Department in conjunction with the Heartland Blood Center.  All volunteer donors received a free Heartland sports backpack.

According to Heartland Blood Center statistics, Northwestern College’s drive collected 20 units of blood, with 6 additional people being deferred.  All donors were employees and students of Northwestern College.

Special thanks to Kathy Locke, the Medical Assisting Program Coordinator of the School of Health Sciences at Northwestern College for her efforts in putting together this community event.  Additionally, the College extended its thanks to two Medical Assistant students who helped out for the duration of the blood drive, including Margaret Vahl of Bourbonnais and Lesley Villasenor of Chicago.
