Chicago Heights Park District Hosts McEldowney Park Work Day

McEldowney Park, the oldest park in the Heights, is in need of a little maintenance and upkeep and the Chicago Heights Park District is inviting residents to help out. The McEldowney Park Work Day will take place Saturday, April 13.

Chicago Heights' oldest park, McEldowney Park, needs a little spring cleaning to spruce up for the busy months ahead of children, families and friends enjoying the park's outdoor spaces. The park, located at the corner of 15th Street and Edgewood Avenue, will be the focus of the Chicago Heights Park District's McEldowney Park Work Day on Saturday, April 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Residents are invited to come to the park and help clean up, take care of some maintenance and enjoy light refreshments. Attendees are encouraged to bring yard work gloves and hand tools to help in the efforts to maintain and beautify the park.

Attendees can park at the Recreation Center, 1400 Chicago Road, or Woodrow Wilson Woods, just north of Route 30. The event will take place rain or shine.
