The National Weather Service has issued an advisory for dangerously cold temperatures, and it's expected to last through Wednesday morning.
For those who don’t have the luxury of a heated home to stay at, the city is offering warming centers at the following locations:
- Chicago Heights Police Department, 1601 South Halsted St.
- Bloom Township Center, 425 South Halsted St.
The city is also advising to check on friends, family and neighbors—especially the elderly—during the extreme cold.
