“Charlie” Brings Magical Chocolate Quest to GSU

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the beloved story of a boy who wins a trip to the world’s most fabulous candy company, comes to The Center for Performing Arts at Governors State University for a single performance on Thursday, July 14, at 11 a.m.

As presented by Chicago’s Emerald Street Theatre, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is an exciting tale suitable for children 3 years of age and older. This musical retelling of Roald Dahl’s classic children’s book is designed to delight the imagination of young theater-goers.After Charlie discovers a golden ticket, he wins a chance to tour Willy Wonka’s mysterious chocolate factory. Charlie and his grandfather, accompanied by four outrageous children, enter a world of adventure, Oompa Loompas, and candy wonders.
