GSU Hosts Student Art Exhibit

Governors State University will present the work of Wayon Collins in his graduate thesis exhibition “Don’t Shoot The Messenger” from July 7-12 in the university’s Visual Arts Gallery.

An opening reception celebrating the artist and his work will be held on Tuesday, July 12, from 7-9 p.m. Both the reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.

Collins shows the viewer modern day problems through his artwork, which takes the form of comic book covers and the iconic posters of various activists who spoke out against social inequalities. His artwork has been exhibited in galleries throughout the Chicago area.
