Threshold

The first floor of Threshold is an exhibit of art that
pushes the boundaries between fine craft and sculpture. The exhibit features artists who uses traditional craft media to create innovative sculpture. Threshold challenges our preconceived notions of fine craft media like fibers or ceramics.  Art exhibited includes woven installations, fiber paintings, ceramic sculpture, and artist made books.

The second floor of Threshold features 8 emerging artists from Illinois. These artists are at the beginning of their careers, creating dynamic and cohesive bodies of work and beginning to establish themselves as professional  artists. They are proving they have what it takes to make a name for themselves in the art world and become influential to the Chicago art scene.

The opening reception will be Friday April 13, 6-9pm. This exhibit and opening reception are free and open to the public. Many of the exhibiting artists will be present to engage the audience.
