Recently,  Margaret’s Boutique 2 on Joe Orr, nicknamed “A Diva’s Closet,” revealed some of the prom fashions she features at her boutique in Chicago Heights. 

“I’ve been in Chicago Heights just two months, but have been in the boutique business two years," said owner Margaret Boyd.

There has been a change in shopping for prom dresses as computers bring fashion right into your home. To meet those needs, Boyd works through a wholesale apparel site, theimmediateresource.com.

"Girls can go online and choose their gown and have it shipped here to the boutique," Boyd said. "You receive the dress within two business days. They have two football fields size facility filled with beautiful dresses. They are a wonderful venue out of Dallas, Texas.”

Margaret’s Boutique 2 not only features prom gowns but mother of the bride dresses, after-five dresses, jewelry and "church ladies" suits and hats. 

“One of the things we try and do here is keep the prices very reasonable," Boyd explained. "Some prom dresses, you would pay five hundred dollars. You would pay half of that price here. We don’t sell any dress over $250.00.  All the dresses you see in the photos are all under $250.00" 

Boyd said the appeal of her boutique starts with exclusivity.

"There (are) not a lot of boutiques in this area," she said as she showed some of the gowns in her boutique. "We feature unique fashions that you’re not going to see everywhere. In Chicago Heights there (are) not many places for prom and church lady suits, so that makes us exclusive."
