3 Star Opens For Lunch & Dinner

Walking down 22nd Street, smells of the neighborhood fill the air. It's been awhile since the scent of Italian sausage has been on The Hill..until now. " There has been 26 different bars here, I'm the last one standing," says Jake Marthaler. Jake and his brother Luke purchased the historical bar/store/restaurant about 3 months ago. Just last month the cobwebs were dusted off the grill to open the kitchen this week. The famous Italian sandwiches, along with other authentic Italian food items are available for lunch and dinner. " Our chicken parmesean sandwiches are the most popular," says Marthaler. " We are keeping the old school vibe but looking to capture a new generation," he added. The bocce courts are fully functional and open for play. There are other plans to have monthly Italian style family dinners. Friend of the brothers, Joe Corradetti is at the restaurant every day to help the brothers. " We're keeping the dining room the same. We love Chicago Heights. We'll make it better than before."

3 Star is located at 164 East 22nd Street in Chicago Heights. For lunch and dinner hours call 708-754-6855.
