ATI Physical Therapy Opens New Clinic in Lansing, Illinois

ATI Physical Therapy is expanding in the Chicago Southland with the opening of a new clinic at 16819 Torrence Ave. in Lansing, Illinois. The new clinic, which is located in the Landings Shopping Center on U.S. Route 6, opened March 3, 2014.

ATI Lansing is dedicated to treating patients for orthopedic and neurological conditions including work and sports related injuries. Services include physical therapy and sports medicine.

ATI’s team of therapists combines experience and the most advanced manual therapy techniques. ATI’s treatment plan also integrates therapeutic modalities, therapeutic exercise, strength training, and cardiovascular conditioning to help patients get back to feeling their best.

“With its small-town charm and deep-seated family values, Lansing is the perfect location for ATI Physical Therapy.  We’ve grown into a large company, but maintained the ‘small mom and pop shop’ customer service values of treating our patients like family,” said Jason Hafner, Senior Vice President of Operations, ATI Physical Therapy.

Tiana Jungels, DPT, has been promoted to lead clinician of the Lansing clinic.  Jungels received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology & Human Biology and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Carroll University in Waukesha, WI. She is an American Physical Therapy Association Certified Clinical Instructor and is currently working towards her certification as a dry needling specialist. In her free time, Jungels enjoys participating in triathlons and recently finished a 70.3 Ironman.

“Human bodies are complex, always changing, and one is never the same as another. I like to treat the patient and not treat just the diagnosis,” said Jungels.  “I look at the whole picture and determine what deficits are related to the patient’s symptoms and diagnosis and then make my plan of care accordingly.”

Jungels has been a part of the ATI team since 2011, most recently working in Hammond, IN. She says the best part of her job is getting to know her patients, and helping patients return to positive thinking about their lives and abilities rather than continuing to focus on pain or physical deficits.

“Being a physical therapist, I know I am a valuable medical professional to both my patients, and the doctors who entrust their care to me,” said Jungels. “As a physical therapist, I have a unique roll that serves as a bridge between the science and knowledge that allows us to understand the human body and the interpersonal skills to motivate and educate patients on their road to recovery. It is this ‘human touch’ that compels me to be an excellent therapist each day.”

ATI, one of the nation’s leading physical therapy and sports medicine providers, strives to take physical therapy to a higher level by offering expanded hours, complimentary injury screens, and transportation services for those with medical need. Unique to the industry, ATI’s dedicated in-house research department aims to improve patient outcomes through basic science, translational research, and evidence-based medicine.

ATI has received many local, regional, and national accolades for its commitment to quality care and a motivating, patient-friendly environment. The company was named “Best Physical Therapy Company in the Nation” by ADVANCE Rehab Magazine and has achieved URAC core accreditation, recognizing its commitment to quality healthcare.

As a way to give back to the communities in which its patients and employees live, work, and serve, ATI established the ATI Foundation in 2007. The ATI Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides resources and funding to children with physical impairments.
