TO BE OR NOT TO BE THAT IS THE QUESTION

TO BE OR NOT TO BE, THAT IS THE QUESTION

During my 69 years on this earth, “To Be or Not To Be,” has been the question I have asked myself over and over again before doing anything. I am very careful about allowing others in defining who I am as a human being, father, brother, husband, friend, neighbor; from the events of passed weeks to continue to be or not to be one of Hearst Elementary School's Local School Council Parent Representatives.

The current story in short, I am currently in a motorize Wheel Chair, fighting hard to get out. During the many acts of God, in the months of December r 2013, January 2014 and February 2014, which by the way I had no control, unable to attend these months of Hearst Elementary School's Local School Council meetings because of the very, very below zero cold temperatures and the very high levels of snow on the ground which would have made it totally impossible to travel to the school from my home.

It is of my belief that passed months of disagreements with the principal of Hearst Elementary School concerning my and other LSC members elective responds duties and rights as the school's governmental body must stop and I feel her belief is that I have open the door by missing these meetings are her opportunity to influence, force, intimidate seven members of this governmental body in voting me out of the council.

Over the last 12 or so years elected as a Chicago Pubic School's Local School Council parent Representative I have not missed any meetings as it concerns the students or the school and 19 years as a case-manger, I miss only five days. I have found working with others have help to improve my personal life. I get great enjoyment from it.

Yes, “To Be or Not To Be” is a very great question when one are helping others, one feel better about themselves Its is good to help others in time of need. Not too many people like to help others that are why there is much demand in the nursing field today. This is why there are high demands over the world. People are to themselves and do not care about their neighbor. However, there are many ways that one can help people without them being a burden on you. I will give you a few ideas that I have used and learned to get my bran rambling, since helping otherwise

I have found being an elective member of the Local School Council to be very rewarding because it has given me the opportunities of helping those who are voiceless in fighting for their educational rights. I also have found that working together as a team with other LSC members on many levels we had been very victorious in all areas in which we were seeking.

What are some ways I can work with people?

Many options are available for helping other people. It depends on what one like to do.

Perhaps you would enjoy working with troubled children. This may be a way that you can enjoy living. You can call centers that specialize in helping troubled kids to see if volunteers are needed. Perhaps you can join schools that specialize in helping troubled children. You will also find hospitals that have a high demands for people to help them deal with troubled children. Hospitals are available also that request volunteers to visit the elderly. Imaging how a person would feel if you come to visit, and this person has no visitors at all. You can also find employment for nurses aides if you qualify. Doctors are always searching for new receptionists.

How will working with people help me to improve my life?

When you work with others, helping them in life, you improve your own life. You will feel better about you. You will feel likes a new person. Helping others is a reward. I, notice that I feel healthier each time I help someone else.

How do I develop qualities to help other people?

Helping others takes little skills. You will find qualities inside you that help you develop skills. For instance, we all can use self-awareness, or observational tools to observe others. When you take the time to study other people, you will see their needs and wants. When you start to see their needs and wants you can move to help them. For instance, if you notice someone struggling to carry grocery bags to their car, you are observing a person in need. Why not give them a hand.

You can also help elderly people up stairs, in stores, or help them with their grocery shopping. Elderly people may have a problem reaching high on the shelves. If you are passing by, why not lend a hand. The hand you lend will come back and bite you in your time of need. In other words, someday someone will help you too when you start to grow older.

Helping others can include giving an ear. Many people struggle in life searching for answers to his or her problems. Perhaps if you lend an ear you may be able to help them find answers. In addition, you may find answers to your own problems. The time answers are in front of us, yet we fail to see them too often. When you help others, those answers come to light.

In life, we all have to be willing to take risks. No, you are not going to play in a major highway, challenging your maker. Rather taking risks means trying new things in life. One of those new things in life involves helping others.

Now that you have an idea how to help others why not uproot your trunk and head out the door to find someone to help. “TO BE OR NOT TO BE, THAT IS THE QUESTION!”

If you are a parent of a Hearst student, and a Hearst Elementary School Community member on April 7, 2014 vote at the school to reelect me as a Paretn Representative.
