A fan page memorializing Hayley Pelock received hundreds of likes within 48 hours of being created.

A Facebook fan page memorializing 19-year-old homicide victim Hayley Pelock has jumped to more than 500 likes since its creation over the weekend.

Jacob Kosarko, who created the group, was not a personal acquaintance to Pelock but said his friends were.

"I didn't even know her but she touched my friends' lives so much that seeing them so sad over her made me want to do something for them [and] since I knew how to make Facebook pages, I wanted to do it for them," Kosarko said. "It'd be a way to always honor her [and] keep her in our memories. I wish I had the opportunity to meet her."

Pelock died of a gunshot wound to the chest Friday, after her 20-year-old boyfriend, Ryan Fantasia, accidentally shot her inside his Chicago Heights home, according to police. Fantasia now faces felony charges for obstruction of justice for not immediately telling police he shot the Marian Catholic graduate, police said.

The Facebook page, titled "R.I.P. Hayley Pelock 1991-2011. Gone But Never Forgotten," has been flooded with kind words from Pelock's family members, friends and classmates.

"Rest In Paradise beautiful angel." Alanna Elizabeth said on the page wall. "Look down and watch over us. You'll always be remembered, loved, and missed. You've left such a lasting impression on everyone... if you could only see it. [I'll] never forget you Hayley."

"Hayley was a wonderful classmate and genuinely nice and caring," Diamond Milliner said. "She was also one of the first people I met at Marian because we had freshman Emmaus together. My mom and I go to [Jewel] all the time and sometimes I would always see Hayley working, she was a hard worker and extremely nice to her customers."

Kosarko has also posted news updates and links to stories on the homicide.
