Prairie State College Suffers Partial Power Outage

The cafeteria at the school was closed Monday.

Prairie State College suffered a partial power outage Monday morning due to two transformers being damaged, according to the school's Facebook page. 

While the school remained open, classes in the main building had to be reassigned to different rooms and the cafeteria was closed. 

The school provided information about the outage throughout the day via status updates on Facebook. The most recent update was provided around 5 p.m. and said:

The outage is affecting the cashier, the bookstore, and some offices and classrooms. We regret any inconvenience. We will keep you updated as we get information on the repairs. The college remains open.

The update also said the one of the damaged transformers was repaired but that the other would need to be replaced.
