R. Kelly's Olympia Fields Home Reportedly Facing Foreclosure

Media reports published today say the legendary, controversial singer-songwriter is underwater on his Southland mansion.

Olympia Fields homeowner, R. Kelly, arguably the town's most famous resident, is facing a $2.9 million foreclosure suit on his mansion on Maros Lane, according to Crain's Chicago Business.

The Emmy-award-winning singer and songwriter is reportedly in arrears on his mortgage payments dating back to summer 2010, Crains reports, citing a recent complaint filed in Cook County Circuit Court by J.P. Morgan Chase Bank N.A. 

The principal due is given as more than $2.9 million.

Allan Mayer, Kelly's spokesman declined to comment directly on the foreclosure, but told the The Associated Press Kelly is not in financial trouble.

Mayer also told AP that Kelly now lives in Chicago. Mayer says Kelly’s recent tour and 2010 album, Love Letter, have been successful.
