Suburban Woman and Service Dog Don Matching Cap and Gown

Orland Park native Bridget Evans and her service dog Hero have become an Internet sensation, after she shared a photo of the two in cap and gown for graduation from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

South suburban native and University of Illinois graduate Bridget Evans says she owes her recent graduation to her dog—her Hero.

Evans is in a wheelchair due to disabilities related to spina bifida. Last weekend, she received her Master's degree from the College of Applied Health Sciences, and Hero never left her side. He even dressed for the occasion in his very own cap and gown.

"I couldn't have gone to college without him," Evans said on Reddit.
