Braid Tales (Hip Hop Dance, Poetry, & Visual Art)

"Braid Tales" is presented by Kuumba Lynx and FootworKINGz in association with GSU Center for Performing Arts as part of our "One More Night" Series.


"Braid Tales" is a cross-discipline performance that weaves together the stories of urban artists through hip-hop, dance, spoken word poetry, visual art, and multi-media.


The double bill features a diverse explosion of genres and styles.

This twisted, poetically licensed movement is a multi-dimensional street art production that weaves real life stories through the lens of the Kuumba Lynx Peace Poets and Chicago's FootworKINGz.

The South Shore Drill Team are featured and will be opening the show.


Fusing boomin’ beatz, ill poetics, intricate graff art, and show stoppin’ dance moves, "Braid Tales" will move you to join Hip Hop's Revolution.


This production includes adult language and sexual discussion, so is not recommended for children under 15 years of age.


"Braid Tales" is part of GSU Center for Performing Arts "One More Night" Series, which gives everyone a chance to see the best of Chicago theater in the Southland, for one night only.
