Nike has once again partnered with Prologue Inc. and the Darren Group to offer free basketball clinics for Chicago youth ages 9 to 18, on Saturday, December 28, at Quest Athletics, 2641 W. Harrison St. in Chicago. Nike will offer a free, age-appropriate basketball instruction. The attendees will learn the following basketball skills – shooting, passing, dribbling, rebounding and defense.

This is the second holiday camp offered to the youth.

The November clinic, held at Prologue’s Joshua Johnston Fine Arts and Design Charter School, located at 9501 W. 95th St. in Chicago, was a huge success, drawing hundreds of youth. In addition to the camp, they received a free Nike t-shirt, hat, glove, breakfast, lunch and basketball.

On 28th, Quest Athletics will conduct the basketball clinic during two sessions from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The two-hour sessions will accommodate 100 to 150 kids and will be divided into 9- to 12-year-old or 13- to 18-year-old groupings. Refreshments will be provided.

The December clinic will feature Alderman Jason Ervin as a guest speaker and Ronnie Fields, retired professional basketball player, will speak to the youth about life possibilities off the court.

The organizations involved are committed to enhancing the lives of children and youth from he underserved areas of Chicago through sports, physical fitness and camaraderie.
