PSC Hosting “Of Ebony Embers: Vignettes of the Harlem Renaissance” March 6

Prairie State College (PSC) is
hosting “Of Ebony Embers: Vignettes of the Harlem Renaissance,” at 11 a.m.,
Thursday, March 6, in the Conference Center Auditorium on the PSC main campus,
located at 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights.

The event is a chamber music theatre work conceived and performed by the Core Ensemble. The music trio (cello, piano, and percussion) and solo actor, Jamyl Dobson, explore the lives of poets Langston Hughes, Claude McKay and Countee Cullen – as seen through the eyes of the painter and muralist Aaron Douglas during the Harlem Renaissance.

The program is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Susan Solberg, dean of liberal arts, at (708) 709-3758 or ssolberg@prairiestate.edu.
