Chicago Heights Public Library's Growing History Collection!

Chicago Heights Public Library is looking for donations to their local history collection.

Chicago Heights Public Library has a pretty awesome history collection.  We have thousands of photographs, hundreds of Bloom, Bloom Trail, and Marian Catholic yearbooks, and over a century of The Chicago Heights Star/Southtown Star on Microfilm.  But we want to expand our collection even more!  We want your old yearbooks, whether they are from Elementary, Jr. High, or High School.  Don’t let them just collect dust in your basements or sell them at a garage sale, donate them to the library and write it off on your taxes!  If you have old photos or scrapbooks we want those too!  If you’ve been researching your family history and have discovered many different branches on your family tree, why not donate a copy to the library’s history collection so that it can be preserved here for future generations.  This is a town with a lot of history!  And we want to keep that history alive at the Library!  So when you’re spring cleaning this year, and you come across a box of long forgotten photos or awards from high school, allow me to make a suggestion!  Donate them to us!  We want your (local and relevant) junk!  We want those yearbooks, those local cookbooks, those photos from your spring flings (especially if you know the people in the photo!) So if its connected to Chicago Heights, we will gladly accept it!

We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements. Learn more here
