Heights Humane Society Seeks Support for $100,000 Grant: You Told Us

With the click of a button, you could help the South Suburban Humane Society win a $100,000 grant from ASPCA and Rachael Ray. Voting is open from April 5 to April 16, and voters can vote daily until contest is completed. Visit the Humane Society's page on the Vote to Save Lives Website to cast a vote for SSHS and help the Heights-based non-profit get a big boost.

The Second Ward Alliance for Community Advancement, operating out of , is seeking committee members to plan out the possible renovation of a mural at the intersection of East End Avenue and 22nd Street. They are looking for people that can contribute ideas for art, fundraising opportunties and a community event.
