Boy, 12, Killed in Crash in Olympia Fields

Three others taken to hospital. Driver reportedly was 13 years old, ABC Ch. 7 News reports.

A 12-year-old boy was killed and three other children were hurt when a car crashed into a tree in Olympia Fields on Wednesday afternoon, the Chicago Tribune reports.

About 12:45 p.m., a car that was apparently speeding crashed in the 600 block of Brookwood Terrace, according to the report. 

Almani Kreamer, 12, was pronounced dead at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights, according to the report. Three other children were taken to area hospitals. Police described the vehicle's other occupants as Olympia Fields residents younger than 16, according to the report.

Almani was sitting in the back seat with his seat belt on, according to police. ABC 7 News is reporting that the driver was a 13-year-old girl driving her mother's car.

Armani's family had moved to Olympia Fields within the last year. 

“He was a special little boy,” his mother, Regina Anderson, told the Tribune on Thursday afternoon. “I just hope he didn’t suffer.”
