Chicago Heights Juvenile Accused of Stealing $8,800 Worth of Electronics

On April 1, an Olympia Fields resident told police a 48-inch flat-screen TV, a Blu-ray player, a digital camera, a Fender electric guitar and two Macintosh desktop computers were stolen from his home. The total value of the items was listed at about $8,800.

Nearly five months later, police received a report from the Illinois State Police Crime Lab connecting a fingerprint found at the home to a Chicago Heights juvenile. Chicago Heights police arrested the young man and also gave his mother a ride to the station.

After police presented information about his fingerprints being left at the scene and showed photos of the residence, the young man told police and his mother that he did break into the home and steal several items, according to the report.

The young man also told police a man known as “Sharkey” and “Geraldo” assisted in the burglary.
