Chicago Heights Woman Who Stabbed Disabled Coworker to Death Gets 25 Years

The two women were both janitors—and once friends—at SouthSTAR services in Chicago Heights.

A Chicago Heights woman who stabbed a disabled coworker to death in 2010 was sentenced Tuesday to 25 years in prison.

Selisea Tyler, 31, pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree murder, in the death of SouthSTAR coworker Cynthia Humphrey, 47. 

Tyler followed Humphrey, a Beverly native, home to her Matteson residence on May 10, 2010, where she stabbed her 39 times.
