DCFS Investigates 3-Month-Old Boy's Death

Children removed from Park Forest home after baby dies at Chicago Heights hospital.

The Department of Children and Family Services is investigating the death of a 3-month-old boy who died Saturday evening at Franciscan St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights. The inquiry is focusing on the boy's aunt.

A Sunday autopsy at the Cook County Medical Examiner's office was inconclusive.

The child, Nathan Winston of the 400 block of Niagara Street in Park Forest, died at 5:19 p.m. DCFS spokeswoman Veronica Resa told reporters "an unspecified number of other children in the home have been placed with family members under a DCFS-monitored safety plan," reports CBS 2 News Chicago.
