Domestic Dispute Brings the House Down

Or at least the rotted porch, on a home in the 400 block of 15th Street in Chicago Heights.

Some events really do bring the house down.

Jeffrey Smith, 34, of the 400 block of 15th Street in Chicago Heights, was charged with domestic battery, police said, after shoving an acquaintance out the front door, causing the rotted porch to collapse.

The altercation started on Dec. 9 around 8 a.m., police said, when Smith opened the bathroom door on a woman’s foot and threatened to beat her. The force of the door ripped the woman’s big toe nail off, according to the police report.
