No License, Big Trouble

Shannece Gregory, 24, of the 5000 block of Elmira Court, Plainfield, was charged with driving under the influence, driving without headlights, having no proof of insurance and driving on a suspended license, according to a report. Police spotted a car at about 3:17 a.m. near 14th Street and Hilltop Avenue driving without headlights. The driver, Gregory, had bloodshot eyes and a smell of alcohol on her breath.

Police said Gregory fell over limp in her seat when she reached for the glove box to get her identification. A check determined she did not have a valid driver's license. She was asked to take field sobriety tests, which she allegedly failed. Gregory was arrested and booked at the Chicago Heights Police Department, where she also tried to take a breath test.

Gregory was due on July 23 in Markham court.
