Drunk at Intersections and Urinating on Lincoln Highway: Crimes of the Week

FRIDAY, JAN. 11

Against the Flow of Traffic

On Jan. 11, An employee at Dunkin' Donuts on 14th Street called police and said a man was sleeping inside the business. When police arrived the man had already left the building, according to the report. Police then saw the man standing about five feet away from Lincoln Highway with the front of his pants down, urinating towards traffic, according to the report.

Runaway DUI

Jesus E. Munoz, 29, of the 300 block of West 15th Place, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he sped through multiple intersections, ignoring stop signs with police pursuing him, according to the report. Police said they were driving more than 50 miles per hour and were unable to catch up with Munoz.

THURSDAY, JAN. 10

Wrong Night, Wrong Intersection

Abraham Ortiz, 33, of the 200 block of W. 14th Street, was arrested and charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol after he disregarded a traffic light and almost hit a police cruiser near the intersection of 14th Street and East End Avenue, according to the report.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 9

Runner

Tevin Gunby, 20, of the 900 block of Mary Byrne Drive in Sauk Village, was arrested and charged with obstruction to a police officer he was stopped outside Ricky's Liquor Store on 16th Street, according to the report. Police were responding to a call about a suspicious subject and possible drug activity when they saw Gunby in front of the business. Asked if he had an ID, Gunby said he did not but told police his name. As police checked their records for any warrants, Gunby took off running toward Portland Avenue, then south toward Shields Avenue.
