UPDATE: Firefighters Douse Garage Blaze on Iris Lane

Patch received the alert around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday afternoon.

Update

Chicago Heights firefighters hastily doused a detached garage fire on Iris Lane early Tuesday afternoon.

Heights Assistant Fire Chief Steve Kozlowski said the call came in around 10:50 a.m. With the help of two other engine companies, 17 Chicago Heights firefighters were able to get fully extinguish the fire by 11:15 a.m.

Two dogs chained in the yard at the time of the blaze were safely moved from the scene and are now in the care of a neighbor.
