Golf Pro Ricky Barnes Becomes Victim of Theft at Olympia Fields Country Club
The Cook County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in solving the crime.
A charity golf tournament in Olympia Fields ended on a sour note Monday after the guest of honor, Richard “Ricky” Barnes, had his golf bag, clubs and luxury watch stolen from his rental car, police said.
Barnes, a guest of the Middle Market Open National Kidney Foundation golf tournament, left the items in the vehicle at Olympia Fields Country Club in the 2800 block of Country Club Drive around 4 p.m., according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office.
When he returned about 25 minutes later, his wallet, golf bag, 14 clubs valued at $3,500, and a Chrome Breitling Bentley watch worth around $8,000 all were missing from the trunk where he'd left them, police said.
