Folded Piece of Paper With Cocaine

Eugene Toliver, 41, of the 200 block of West Hickory in Chicago Heights, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, according to a report. Police were investigating a domestic disturbance at about 5:34 p.m. in the 300 block of West 15th Place when Toliver was seen tossing something in the grass. An officer found a folded piece of paper containing a small amount of a substance that tested positive for the presence of cocaine. He was due in Markham court on March 24.

Ricky L. Stevenson, 44, of the 100 block of Broadway in Chicago Heights, was charged with criminal trespass to property, according to a report. He is accused of lying on the floor and causing a disturbance at about 4:50 p.m. inside Church's Chicken, 1341 Halsted St. Police had been called three times before regarding Stevenson.

DUI Charge for Chicago Heights Driver

Cary R. Cummings, 34, of the 100 block of West Ray Drive in Chicago Heights, was charged with driving under the influence, illegally transporting alcohol and improper lane use, according to a report. Police said they saw a car at about 8:23 a.m. failing to stay in its lane near the intersection of Ashland Avenue and Joe Orr Road. An officer reported smelling a strong odor of alcohol on the driver's breath. Cummings told police "I almost made it home. I was so close" before being asked to perform field sobriety tests. He was arrested and refused to take any more tests. Cummings is due in Markham court on April 17.
