Heights Woman Robbed at Gunpoint in Home Invasion

The woman said she answered her door and was immediately attacked.

A 48-year-old Chicago Heights woman got a surprise visit in which she and her cats were attacked.

The woman told police she was asleep on her couch when someone wearing a red cap, similar to one her father wears, knocked on the door of her 14th Place home. The woman asked who it was, and the person at the door replied "Tom," according to the report.

When the woman answered the door, an unknown man pushed her onto her couch and pointed a gun at her head, according to the report. A second man then came into the house and sprayed the woman's cats with mace, before removing her 48-inch flat-screen TV, the woman told police. The two men then fled the area with the TV.
