Here in Olympia Gardens we have coyote & fox roaming freely. They live inside the drainage ditches and have tried to attack our dogs several times. Luckily we were out w/them each time it has occurred. We watch them crawl out of the drainpipes early in the morning. It's very unnerving w/little children who want to play outside. We never know when one will rear it's head or appear from hiding behind the trees waiting to catch dinner!

I know I was talking about the general harmlessness of coyotes in the Patch Talk, but nuisance coyotes are very real and should be treated with caution. If you think the coyote is becoming more bold and if it starts showing signs of fearlessness towards humans, it's probably best to call Cook County Animal Control at (708) 974-6140.

I've saw a coyoyte a couple of years ago crossing Crawford near 180th last year. I saw a fox crossing Western near Joe Orr Rd late night a few weeks ago.
