Kids Joy Ride in Park District Golf Cart

A $5,000 cart from the Chicago Heights Park District was found shortly after teens used it to get around town, according to police.

A few local kids recently found an odd way to putt around town.

Two boys and a girl were spotted driving in a Chicago Heights Park District golf cart on 14th Place near Sunnyside Avenue on May 2, according to a report.

One district employee checked storage and found one of the golf carts missing, according to a report. The gate fence had been left open.

A security officer recovered the golf cart in the 1400 block of Donovan Avenue, according to the report. It had been left unoccupied behind an apartment complex.

The cart is worth an estimated $5,000. No arrests were reported.
