Police Say 'Known Prostitute' Attacked Heights Cop, Grabbed His Groin

A traffic stop turned violent when a Sauk Village woman attacked a Chicago Heights police officer, according to a police report.

Rasikbhai R. Patel, 55, of the 3300 block of Commercial Avenue in South Chicago Heights, was stopped on 14th Street after police saw his vehicle cross over the median around 3:18 a.m. on Jan. 10, according to the report.

After stopping the vehicle, police recognized Patel's passenger, Tracy A. Mack, as a "known prostitute" and had Patel step out of the vehicle, the report said.

Patel told police he picked up Mack so he could "engage in sexual acts with her in exchange for money," according to the report.

After being ordered to stay inside the vehicle, Mack refused and lunged at police, who took her to the ground and restrained her, the report said. While police were trying to cuff Mack, she grabbed an officer's groin area, police said.

Mack, 31, of the 21600 block of Peterson Avenue in Sauk Village, was arrested and charged with soliciting for prostitution, battery and resisting.

Patel was arrested and charged with using his vehicle in the course of prostitution and improper lane usage. His vehicle was impounded. 

Patel and Mack are both scheduled to appear at the Chicago Heights Police Department Courtroom on Feb. 1. Mack must also appear at Markham Courthouse on Feb. 14.
