Man Accused of Beating Woman Who Was Pushing Child in Stroller

A Chicago man was charged with domestic battery after allegedly attacking a female friend who was visiting his relatives in Chicago Heights.

Jeremy Thompson, 19, of the 4600 block of Drexel Avenue in Chicago, was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery by Chicago Heights police.

Thompson was accompanied by a woman to a visit with his relatives in Chicago Heights on Aug. 13, according to the police report. The woman told police that after Thompson ordered her to leave the relatives’ home, she began walking northbound on Chicago Road, pushing her child in a stroller.

The woman reported to police that Thompson then ran up behind her, forcefully shoved her to the ground and then stood over her and kicked her.

Although the weeping woman refused to sign a complaint against him, Thompson was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery.
