Man Beaten and Robbed While Driving on East End

After picking up a man he knew, the victim was attacked inside his car.

A South Chicago Heights man picked up an acquaintence and was rewarded for his kindness with a punch in the head, according to the police report from a Jan. 6 incident.

The 43-year-old man told police he was driving north on East End Avenue near Main Street when a man he knows as "Black" flagged him down. The man stopped and let in Black, who he knows from parole classes, according to the report.

Black then hit the man in the head, took his phone and tried to take his keys before getting out of the vehicle and running north on East End, the man told police.
