Man Breaks In, Hits Woman in Face

Police say the woman awoke to the man yelling at her over left property.

A 25-year-old man allegedly broke into a woman’s home and punched her in the face shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 13, according to police reports.

Police say the man forced his way into the woman's home in the 200 block of W. 17th Street while she was sleeping inside. The man allegedly woke the woman up by hitting her in the face, and then immediately began yelling  at her over a property dispute.

When police arrived on the scene, the woman was standing on the front yard with a badly split lip, according to the report. Chicago Heights Fire Department was called to assist with the injury but the woman refused medical attention. Police say she was advised of complain proceedings, but has yet to act on them.
