Man Puts Hand in Strange Place at Ultra Foods: Police Blotter

Drug Possession

Carmen C. Crooms, 43, of the 9000 block of Hunter in Orland Hills, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance after police stopped her for disobeying a stop sign near the intersection of 15th Street and East End Avenue, according to the report. The officer noticed noticed Crooms appeared to be hiding something under her right arm, so she was asked to exit the vehicle, according to the report. Upon searching Crooms's vehicle, police found two small bags containing an off-white substance that tested positive for cocaine. Crooms also racked up charges of disobeying a stop sign and having a defective cracked windshield, police said.

Disturbance at Ultra Foods

Leroy Alfored, 46, who is homeless, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after a confrontation with an employee of Ultra Foods on 14th Street. When the employee asked Alfored to leave because of his "loud and obnoxious behavior," Alfored placed his hand in the employee's front pants pocket,according to the report. The employee told police he did not feel threatened, just very uncomfortable.

Battle on Police Turf

Police were dispatched to the south parking lot of the Chicago Heights Police Department about a disturbance, according to the report. When they arrived they found a woman standing outside her vehicle yelling at someone who was i in the backseat of the car. The woman told police she was taking home her sister's boyfriend, Willie Hollins. She said Hollins was highly intoxicated and was screaming and yelling at her. The woman said Hollins has a beer in the car and she told him to throw it out, but he refused. She then took Hollins to the police station, but he refused to exit the vehicle. Hollins, 34, of the 400 block of Devonshire in Bolingbrook, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

$2 Thief

A 70-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police her car was parked outside her Park Avenue home when an unknown person broke into her rear driver's side triangle window and removed about $2 in change. Police noticed the woman's glove box was open with papers scattered all over the inside of the vehicle.
